DirectHer Network Industry Report

DirectHer Network is a women-led not-for-profit empowering Canadian women with the tools and support necessary to serve on boards. Their goal? To have our boardrooms reflect the communities we live in - and recognize there are brick walls that are keeping women out of the boardroom.

I was brought on to create the design and layout of the 2022 Industry Report, as well as accompanying social graphics to promote the report. This industry report titled “Pathways to Board Work for Women and Gender Diverse People: Understanding Experiences and Barriers” was created in partnership with Dr. Rachael Pettigrew from the Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal University.

Within this report you will find a summary of:

  • the current gender representation on not-for-profit, government and for-profit boards,

  • what’s driving participation on various types of boards,

  • the barriers preventing representative participation on not-for-profit, government and for-profit boards, and

  • importantly, tangible tips for boards to improve meaningful diversity on their boards.

If you are looking for someone who can take a vision and a lot of information and turn it into a beautiful and easily digestible (and shareable) final product, use Tori as a partner. With minimal direction Tori has supported us in creating an industry report and other graphics that help us get across our bold messages.

I had the pleasure of working with Tori in the development of a 20-page industry report. The report described research results from a project conducted in partnership with MRU and DirectHer Network. Tori did an amazing job juggling multiple stakeholders and responded quickly and thoughtfully to feedback and requests. The infographics and layout she developed made the report reader friendly and made complex information feel accessible. I absolutely look forward to working with her again in the future.
